The All White Farmhouse - Where the Omni Brand Takes Shape

When we started planning this home back in 2018; we were just starting our journey in discovering who Omni Homes Master Builder was. We were new to the infill construction world and much of the team had spent the majority of their careers building new homes in the suburbs. When we put pen to paper; the vision was too create something that would blend in seamlessly into the neighbourhood, and offer timeless elegance that would stand as a testament to sophistication and refinement for generations to come….while maintaining a budget….while working with a skinny home design.

Let me introduce you to where it all began.

Developer, Builder, and Design - Omni Homes Master Builder

Timeless all white shake front infill home

When designing a home we like to put ourselves in our homeowners shoes. Could I envision myself heading out the double french doors onto the front verandah and enjoying my morning coffee? On a rainy day, would I enjoy listening to rain drops make music on the metal roof overhead? Would the traditional windows with lots of grills lend to making you feel like you aren’t living in a new construction home? This all white farmhouse at the time seemed risky for us but were so happy how it turned out.

Elegant kitchen showcasing double islands and gold pendants

This stunning kitchen was a classic farmhouse beauty. The subtle colours, mixed metals, the sunlight streaming in and casting a warm glow on the room.

Spacious kitchen with a view of open riser staircase

The airy kitchen was highlighted by soft grey cabinetry paired with crisp white islands from Gem Cabinets. The doors and drawers were adorned with Emtek Alexander pull and Norwich knob in polished nickel. The cabinet hardware matched the Kohler Purist bridge faucet that was resting on top of the Franke manor house glossy white fireclay apron front sink.

Kitchen with glass front cabinets and farmhouse sink

We loved how the texture and imperfection of the Tierra Sol tempo handmade series in snow gave so much personality and warmth to the space. The Chapman & Myers stonington lantern in antique gild was a cherry on top of a giant ice cream sundae that is made out of gold. The antiqued details and the tone of the gold were stunning.

Spacious living room filled with natural light

The cast limestone fireplace mantle with hearth were the focal point of the living room. This was custom made for Omni Homes by Tuscan Stoneworx. It was done in the colour pearl white in a honed finish. While it was a little bit of a splurge, the mantle creates a priceless old world European vibe. Encased by built-in bookshelves that were hand crafted by our talented finisher to match the cabinets below. The light fixture is brasri parserch flush mount from Restoration Hardware in polish nickel. Beautiful custom Alendel linenhouse fabric drapes in Winter White supplied by Rainbow Draperies finish the space.

Dining room with large window and custom drapes

The rich wood floors were Kentwood brushed maple in tail feather and the calming wall colour of Benjamin Moore cloud cover made for an inviting space with its earthy tones. Custom millwork and Crate and Barrel chandelier in brushed nickel create and ambiance that is both cozy and luxurious.

All white ensuite with marble floors and freestanding tub

One word could describe this ensuite - opulence. The curb-less shower with the polished Gani Marble Calacatta 12 x 24 seamlessly throughout was breathtaking. The curves of this freestanding tub were perfection which was illuminated by a Restoration Hardware Aislynn crystal chandelier in white and Kohler purist floor mounted tub filler in chrome.

Seamless curbless shower creates a spacious and luxurious bathroom design

The tone on tone Benjamin Moore decorator white walls and trim with white cabinetry offered a beautiful purity in the space. Embellished by Resoration Hardware grafton glass pull in brushed nickel were so delicate to both their beauty and detriment. These glass pulls were eventually replaced as you had to be too careful with them. Kohler purist cross handle wall mounted faucet in chrome, Resoration Hardware wilshire double wall sconce in brushed nickel, and HomeSense mirrors completed the vanity.

Tray ceiling with beaded chandelier

It’s the small details that build character in a home; what would be better than reaching for the door handle to enter your retreat and finding a touch of glamour…the Emtek modern disc glass knobs delivered. The primary bedroom is our personal oasis where we unwind and recharge so adding some special features was a must; the beaded chandelier set under a tray ceiling has you waking up to a touch of architectural beauty everyday. The double french doors into the walk-in closet with built-in dressers has never made home organization look so good.

The response we received on this home was incredible and at that moment we knew we found our niche. We love blending modern luxury with timeless design that result in beautiful character homes tucked into the mature communities of Edmonton. This home inspires us to continue to explore unique details and is shaping the way we build homes today.
